Objectives of the Course

Acquiring the right sound in baglama instrument, improving the dominance of pitch and pitch, and being able to read and play notes of 4th, 16th, and 32nd.

Course Content

Using traditional Turkish Folk Music melodies and etudes created with motifs compiled from these melodies, the basic playing technique in the performance of the baglama instrument and the basic note training.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week 1 - Theoretical & Practice
History of baglama instrument, expression/application of plectrum and tape technique.
Week 2 - Theoretical & Practice
Horizontal scale exercises on the lower string group La fret, in Buselik, Kürdi, Hicaz and Uşşak makams.
Week 3 - Theoretical & Practice
Horizontal scale exercises on the lower string group Re fret, in Buselik, Kürdi, Hicaz and Uşşak makams.
Week 4 - Theoretical & Practice
Vertical scale and etude exercises in Buselik, Kürdi, Hicaz and Uşşak makams on the lower string group La and Re frets.
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Finger exercises with etudes consisting of 4th and 8th notes in 4/4 scale.
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Etude studies including dotted 4th and 8th note combination in 4/4 scale, multiplication, drawing and glisendo techniques
Week 7 - Theoretical & Practice
Explaining the concept of finger positions and reinforcing it with studies.
Week 8 - Theoretical & Practice
Explaining the concept of finger positions and reinforcing it with studies.
Week 9 - Theoretical & Practice
Explaining the concept of finger positions and reinforcing it with studies.
Week 10 - Theoretical & Practice
Etude studies including 16 and 32 note groups and the use of multiplication, drawing, glisendo and legato techniques in these studies.
Week 11 - Theoretical & Practice
Reinforcing the dotted scales and legato technique with the performance of folk tunes called Ankara Postası, Dehlenk Oyun Havası, Gayda Oyun Havası.
Week 12 - Theoretical & Practice
Performing the works named Kıyılı Halayı, Abdurrahman Halayı, Yanlama Halayı, Şur Rengi.
Week 13 - Theoretical & Practice
Etude studies and performance of folk melodies in 5/8, 7/8, 8/8 and 9/8 scales.
Week 14 - Theoretical & Practice
General repetition and reinforcement exercises.
