Objectives of the Course

1. To recognize the kanun, 2. Providing basic technical skills with initial level studies, 3. To apply beginner level pieces in Basit makams.

Course Content

Holding, sitting, hand-finger-wrist-elbow-arm positions and angles, the angle of the legs, grasping the plectrum strokes with the exercises used separately and together with the right hand-left hand, the use of right hand-left hand in different weighing patterns, studies on a single wire, scale exercises, introduction to the use of pegs, modal studies.

History of the instrument, presentation of the technical parts, special attention to the selection of the instrument.

Sitting and positioning of the fingers in play position and basic finger movements.
