The aim of the course is to examine the reasons for the emergence and stages of development of the developments in Turkish painting from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present in a multifaceted manner.
Contemporary Turkish Painting is a continuation of Westernization in Ottoman Painting and is a course that examines the artistic developments that took place approximately from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present day, taking into account their social, political, cultural and intellectual aspects. The content of the course is the painters defined as the 1914 Generation, Çallı Generation or Constitutional Monarchy Generation who were active in the mentioned period, the subject of Şişli Workshop and Vienna Exhibition, the Galatasaray Exhibitions opened, then the Independent Painters and Sculptors Association established in the early Republic period, d Group, Dormitory Exhibitions and other exhibitions opened, Later, alongside the Yeniler Group and some other groups, artists who remained outside these formations and continued their painting in line with their own understanding of art; Abstraction and abstract works.
