Objectives of the Course

Defining the Concept of Collage: Part and whole relationship; Recognizing Collage Types: Two-dimensional and three-dimensional collages; Exemplifying Collage Types: Collages made on two-dimensional surface, Assemblage, Installation, Photomontage, Digital collage. The use and examples of the development process of collage in art history: Cubism, Dadaism and to have competence about its applications in contemporary art.

Course Content

Defining the Concept of Collage: Part and whole relationship; Recognizing Collage Types: Two-dimensional and three-dimensional collages; Exemplifying Collage Types: Collages made on two-dimensional surfaces, Assemblage, Installation, Photomontage, Digital collage; Use and Examples of Collage in Art History: Cubism, Dadaism, Contemporary art; Making Collage Applications: The use of materials, studies made in the context of a subject or concept, studies made with free association, producing new visuals and trying to create meaning; Diversification of the applications with the use of different materials in the process; Evaluation of the applications.
