Objectives of the Course

1) Mastering pop and jazz music harmony. 2) Using pop and jazz harmony effectively. 3)To be able to read seventh and extended chord symbols. 4) To be able to understand and apply the relationships between chord symbols and scales.

Course Content

Pop and jazz harmony has its own unique system. Today, these genres, which constitute a large part of the music field, are learned and practiced with a widespread methodology throughout the world. In this context, it is important for a music educator to master this theory.

Analyzing and voicing diatonic chords.

Identification and functions of non diatonic dominant chords.
