Objectives of the Course

Functionalist and liberal / pluralist approaches regarding media will be evaluated, how contemporary critical approaches deal with the media, and the positive and negative effects of mass media on both individuals and society will be discussed.

Course Content

Especially, determining a future framework by addressing the relationship between the triangle of media, individual and society within the framework of theories and theorists accepted in the field of communication. On the other hand, evaluation of contemporary criticism and opinions with case studies. . It will be discussed by newly accepted communication terms such as new media, social media, alternative media within this framework and it will be giving priority to article studies related to these terms.
