Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to have knowledge about the concept of Political Economy, its research and the political economy of the media.

Course Content

The concept of political economy, its historical development and research on this subject constitute the content of this course.

Learning Outcomes
1.Understanding the concept of Political Economy is provided.
2.Will be able to evaluate the approach of critical political economy to the cultural industries within the framework of the world system.
3.Will be able to analyze the political economy of consumption culture within the framework of monopolization and convergence trends in the media.
4.Learns the mainstream and critical currents about political economy.
5.Will be able to interpret the media policies in Turkey and the media contents shaped within the framework of structural change in the axis of a critical political economy approach.
