Objectives of the Course

Tourism, which has become one of the most important sectors of today, is carried out mostly for recreational purposes, so tourism is also called recreational travel. The aim of this course is to evaluate the planning, design and management of recreational areas from the perspective of Landscape Architects and to present the methods of handling the phenomenon of recreational tourism in the context of physical planning.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, definition of tourism concept, explanation of tourism types, presentation of alternative tourism and ecotourism concepts, definition of ecotourism principles, presentation of ecotourism types, evaluation of ecotourism philosophy with examples from the world and Turkey, comparison of mass tourism and ecotourism, definition of recreation concept, recreation. and tourism relationship, evaluation of recreational tourism, presentation of national and international researches on this subject, explanation of examples of recreational tourism area use in the world and in Turkey, presentation of new approaches in recreational tourism planning, presentation of a sample planning scenario study by students.
