Objectives of the Course

In this course, the aim is to establish a comprehensive understanding in the field of ethical considerations within public administration. The primary objective is to comprehend ethical concepts, identify the elements of ethics, examine ethical issues in the context of management, and delve into their philosophical dimensions. Furthermore, emphasizing the significance of ethics in public administration, understanding ethical dilemmas, and learning ethical principles and standards are among the main objectives. The course will address practical issues, including ethical laws, whistleblowers, and protections, highlighting the importance of establishing an ethical-based managerial culture. Understanding the process of ethical decision-making, examining the role of character and virtue ethics are also focal points of the course. Additionally, providing a detailed overview of the normative framework related to administrative ethics in Turkey aims to equip students with knowledge in this field and contribute to their understanding of ethical responsibilities. In this context, the course integrates theoretical knowledge with practical applications, providing students with a platform to deal with ethical issues and enhance their skills in ethical assessment.
