Objectives of the Course

In the context of the relationship between popular culture and media, it is aimed to have knowledge about concepts such as culture, popular culture, mass culture, culture industry, cultural imperialism and the establishment of social cultural / political / economic hegemony through media.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, first of all, in the context of the relationship between popular culture and media, concepts such as culture, popular culture, mass culture, culture industry, cultural imperialism and discussions in the communication literature on the establishment of social cultural / political / economic hegemony through media will be discussed.
