Objectives of the Course

To determine the principles of prevention and protection of sports injuries, to understand the factors that may cause injuries and to reflect these principles in practice.

Course Content

Understanding the principles of protection from and prevention of sports injuries. Defining and understanding the mechanical structure, ground conditions and footwear selection that affect injuries. Identifying the importance of speed, strength, endurance and stretching exercises in injury prevention and integrating them with evidence-based practices. Identification and implementation of injury prevention programs specific to each sport.

Learning Outcomes
1.Defines the factors that may cause sports injuries, researches, analyzes and applies the methods that can be used to prevent injuries.
2.Investigates sports-specific exercise methods for the prevention of sports injuries, critically evaluates the information obtained, has the ability to problem solve and clinical decision-making skills
3.Works multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary as a team member, communicates effectively and reflects individual skills and responsibilities to group work
4.Raises awareness of athletes, coaches, clubs and society about preventive approaches in the prevention of sports injuries.
5.Defines the factors that may cause sports injuries, researches, analyzes and applies the methods that can be used to prevent injuries.
