By examining the relationship between spirituality, religion, psychology, and counseling disciplines, skills are developed to understand and assess clients' spiritual needs and develop intervention plans adhering to ethical principles. Topics covered include spiritual coping processes, the effects of religious/spiritual resources on psychological well-being, spiritual support in crisis and trauma situations, cultural sensitivity, professional boundaries, and the role of spirituality in the context of the counselor-client relationship. Furthermore, spiritual counseling methods are integrated with case studies and practical skill-building activities in working with diverse age groups and special needs groups.
