This course explores the theoretical foundations, historical development, and application areas of spiritual counseling and guidance. By examining the relationship between spirituality, religion, psychology, and counseling disciplines, skills are developed to understand and assess clients' spiritual needs and develop intervention plans adhering to ethical principles. Topics covered include spiritual coping processes, the effects of religious/spiritual resources on psychological well-being, spiritual support in crisis and trauma situations, cultural sensitivity, professional boundaries, and the role of spirituality in the context of the counselor-client relationship.
