Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to inform to students about biological basis of vegetative and generative propagation methods in fruit species.

Course Content

It is given informations about that the selection, storage and germination of seeds; the effects of internal and external factors on the seed germinations; germination tests; internal factors in propagation with cuttings; polarite; internal and external factors in propagation with grafting.

Germination physiology of seeds and germination test methods.
Week 5 - Theoretical & Practice
Internal and external factors on germination.
Week 6 - Theoretical & Practice
Propagation by grafting, graft union, and effective factors on grafting.

Application in collection parcels. (Midterm exam)

Cutting types, time of taking cuttings, preparation types.. Root formation physiology in cuttings and effective factors on plant formation.

Application in collection parcels.

Layering, tuber etc. applications in production Field and laboratory applications.
