The aim of the course is focused on understanding and quantification of plant diseases on population scale and evaluation of this information to determine the appropriate methods and strategies of disease management.

The main topics of the course include seasonal carry-over of pathogens; inoculum release, dispersal and deposition; the spread of pathogens within crop areas; the factors which influence the spread of pathogens within crop areas and disease forcasting.
