Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to provide knowledge and skills related to the sampling, preparation, and analysis of plant materials. The course specifically focuses on teaching students the analysis methods used for the identification of bioactive compounds in medicinal and aromatic plants. The course aims to enhance students' abilities in detecting, analyzing, and interpreting plant compounds, thereby developing their skills in this area.

Course Content

The content of the course encompasses the collection of plant materials, sampling techniques, extraction methods, and analysis techniques. Students will be taught how to properly collect plant samples and prepare them for analysis, including extraction methods for obtaining and concentrating bioactive compounds from plants. Additionally, the course covers analysis methods such as UV-Vis spectroscopy, IR spectroscopy, HPLC (High-Performance Liquid Chromatography), and GC-MS (Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry).
