Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to discuss post-Cold War problems of the Eurasian geography, borders of which depend on the changing definitions, and analysing the Turkey's and certain global actors' Eurasian policies.

Course Content

In this course, Eurasian states will be studied through economic, political, cultural and social dimensions. Policies of the external powers that are influential on the region will be discussed.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to gain knowledge about the main problems of the Eurasian geography; discuss the policies of the states that are seeking for dominance in Eurasia; Analyze the factors that affect regional balance
2.To be able to increase their knowledge and their capacity of interpretation about the opportunities,limits and threats of Turkey in the region.
3.To be able to compose an article , thus students will brace themselves for their master thesis.
4.To be able to present in class the readings on the current issues in the country the student wants to specialize on; hence, have an experience of specialization on a specific field and develop her/his presentation skills with weekly presenations.
5. To be able to comprehend the political, historical, and economic structures and foreign relations of the countries in the region.
