Objectives of the Course

The goal of this course is to examine the necessary basic knowledge for adult nursing and the therapeutic skills needed for effective management of systemic disorders in the body.

Course Content

Medical Surgical Nursing II focuses on the nursing care and the pathophysiology of common Medical problems in the Musculoskeletal, Hematologic, Endocrine, Gastro intestinal, Respiratory system, and Urinary system.

Learning Outcomes
1.Describe the causes, symptoms,signs, treatment and prevention of diseases.
2.Demonstrate skill in carrying out nursing techniques and procedures with the application of scientific principles.
3.Prepare nursing care plan to patients using nursing process.
4.Demonstrate leadership qualities and function effectively as nurse educator and manager.
5.Examine the importance of biopsychosocial, pathophysiological and pharmacological concepts in health care by using the adaptive, preventative, restorative and health education measures to maintain optimal functioning for clients with system alterations.
