The course aims to provide a comprehensive introduction to computer associated engineering (CAE) in modelling thermal and fluid flow systems modeling . Different flow and heat transfer phenomena are covered in terms of engineering software, accordingly selected for the scope of the course.
Principals of Heat Transfer and Fluid Mechanics in the context of Finite Elements Method (FEM) and Finite Volume Method (FVM). Discretization methods for engineering systems modeling. Physics modules for engineering problems. Model pre- and post-processing with popular applications in the field of mechanical engineering.
| Lec. Orçun EKİN |
| 1. | To achieve an in-depth understanding in engineering system definition, the contributing physical modules assignment and coupled physics interfaces. |
| 2. | To gain the ability to parametrically model 2D and 3D engineering problems under steady-state and transient conditions. |
| 3. | To develop computational models for stand-alone and in-line thermal and/or fluid equipment such as turbines, compressors, pumps, hydrocyclones, and fluidized and spouted bed reactors. |
| 4. | 4. To gain the necessary skills to model validation. |
| 5. | 5. To utilize the CAE processes in troubleshooting and optimization tasks. |
