Objectives of the Course

To gain necessary knowledge about mathematical modeling applications in mathematics education and to be able to model some real-life events mathematically with necessary tools.

Course Content

Within the scope of this course, The definition, scope and modeling processes of mathematical modeling in mathematics education will be discussed. Within the scope of the course, modeling from real life situations with various representations, examples of use of modeling activities in the classroom, use of technology in the modeling process, and measurement and evaluation in the mathematical modeling process will be discussed.

1.To be able to gain practical knowledge about the profession in the learning process.
2.To be able to make a research plan related to the field in the learning process and gain the competence to use the appropriate approach, strategy, method, techniques and technologies.

4.To be able to apply mathematical modeling to daily life situations.
5.To be able to prepare a sample modeling activity.
6.Being aware of different approaches to modelling.
7.To be able to use appropriate technology in the mathematical modeling process.
