Objectives of the Course

Recognition of the Iron Age Cultures of Anatolia.

Course Content

After 1200 BC migrations, great changes took place in the socio-political and cultural structure of Anatolia. There were dominated cultures such as Urartians in Eastern Anatolia, Neo Hittites in Southeastern Anatolia, Phrygiansin in Central Anatolia and partly in Inner West Anatolia, Lydians and Eastern Aegean Communities. The studies carried out in Anatolia for about a century, especially about the societies that brought great innovations to the subjects such as ceramics, metal art and woodworking, provided extremely important findings in terms of Anatolian Archeology. The aim of the course is to convey the contributions of the Anatolian Iron Age civilizations.
