Objectives of the Course

To give information about Çağatay Turkish that comes after Harzem Turkish in Timur Empire, the third period of improvment Islamic Central Asian Turkish (Eastern Middle Turkish) literary language and contains various indigenous dialects. To expose the linguistic structure of the period with examing texts.

Course Content

Formation stages and cycles of Çağatay Turkish. Introduction of Literary, grammar works and dictionaries written with Çağatay and Kıpçak Turkish. The application works.

Learning Outcomes

1.	The students learn the grammar of Chagatai Turkic language.
2.	The students are able to transfer the texts written in Chagatai Turkic language into transcription alphabet.
3.	The students have knowledge of historical information of Chagatai Turkic language period.
4.	The students are knowledgeable with the formation and development of Chagatai Turkic language and its place among other Turkish dialects
5.	The students learn the works written by Chagatai Turkic language and the academic studies made on these works.
