Objectives of the Course

To be able to explain the basic elements of foreign policy from the collapse of the Ottoman Empire to the present.

Course Content

The course will focus on the evolution of Turkish Foreign Policy (TDP) in terms of historical and contextual evolution from the early Republican era to the present.

Learning Outcomes
1.To learn the historical evolution of TDP including the period from the early Republican period to the present
2.Understand the TDP's global, regional and domestic policy interaction through the continuity and change dilemma
3.To comprehend TDP's construction processes, major actors, institutions, tools, dominant ideology and theoretical approaches through events
4.To be able to interpret how the TDP has undergone an evolution and reconstruction process in the period to be examined and its relations with other country, country groups, organizations and regions.
5.The main difference between the TDP and TDP in previous periods similarities with today's global-regional-plane internal policies to reposition the trio exploring Turkey and foreign policy in the international system and make inferences for the future.
