Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to teach students II. Mahmut period starting in the period up to the present center in the Ottoman Empire and the Republic of Turkey and to teach understanding of the changes occurring in local government.

Course Content

Administrative structure and functioning of the Ottoman Empire from the modernization movements to the Republican period.

1.To be able to define the basic elements of the Ottoman central administrative structure in the Tanzimat period
2.To be able to summarize the changes that took place in the administrative structure of the Ottoman Empire during the Tanzimat period
3.To interpret the influence of the Ottoman management approach to the management approach the Republic of Turkey

5.Being able to explain the civil society and governance in Turkey
