In the light of debates concerning transition from ındustrial society to post-industrial society, main socio-economic transformations will be examined. In this context changes about technology, labour processes, organizations and especially positions of workers will be scrutunized. Post-industrial dynamics will be supported with current data. Main purpose in this course to develop critical viewpoint to approach facts.
Post-industrial society debates; the main transformations within production process (the transition fordism to post-fordism debates; the approaches of flexible specialization, techno-economic paradigms and regulation school; the flexibility at design - production processes and the usage of technology and labour force); technological transformations, the relationship between technology and ideology; organizational transformations (Japanization and Theory Z, Total Quality Management (TQM), the critical assessments of TQM); the transformations within industrial relations (changing trade unionism, deunionisaton trends, office unionism).
