Objectives of the Course

The main objectives of this lecture are; to ntroduce different research techniques used in sociology; to provide information on the usage of these techniques and their theoretical assumptions; analyse their usage in the fieldwork; to teach the data analyses; to help students in order to make them be able to prepare a research project independently.

Course Content

Building sociological problem towrds a sociological research, preparing research questions; A general introduction of research techniques used in sociological research; comparison between qualitative and quantitative methods; research ethics; Sampling and sampling techniques; introducing data analysis; getting started for the preperation of an individual or group research project; literature reviewing; feedbacks on the continuing projects; the evaluation of research reports within the classroom.
