In this course, we will examine the transformation of modernity in the last quarter of the twentieth century. The fundamental institutions of modernity (capitalism, industrialization, nation-state, war and identity) are undergoing a radical change. Some theorists even defended the end of modernity. While others claim that someone like Giddens has come to a modern, modern stage, he argued that today's industry is transformed into post-industrial or postmodernism. One of the main principles of the course is to examine and reveal the foundations and sociological conditions of modern and postmodern societies.
In this course, Modernity and Postmodernity Concepts, General Characteristics of Modern Age, Social-Cultural and Political Characteristics, Values that the Modern Paradigm Praises, General Characteristics of the Postmodern Age; Social, Cultural and Political Reflections will be examined in terms of globalization and globalization.
