Objectives of the Course

To examine post-industrial transformations, particularly in the context of globalization and neoliberalization, in class structure, consumption, cultural patterns and politics. To examine and to debate some new patterns.

Course Content

Transformations in the family structure within the framework of post-industrial society discussions (re-discussion of the concepts of love, affection and emotional attraction, the establishment of marriage, parenthood, divorce, non-marital cohabitation model, celibacy as a developing preference), Transformations in the leisure and entertainment culture, Transformation of urban space, changing lifestyles, transformation in consumption preferences and the effects of social media.
