Understanding of the basic concepts and problems surrounding the field of epistemology from historical and contemporary sources. Being familiar with some of the main problems in contemporary epistemology.

This course will deal in detail with the following topics: the definition of knowledge; the problem of skepticism; foundationalism and coherentism; the concept of justification; traditional vs. naturalised epistemology etc.
