Objectives of the Course

To develop an understanding of the relationship between art and philosophy by making study of artworks in the light of philosophical problems.

Course Content

The philosophical problems in literature, cinema, theater, music, painting, sculpture and architectural monuments are discussed. For the philosophical analysis of artworks, ideas of great philosophers such as Hegel, Marx, Freud, Dilthey, Bloch, Lukács, Heidegger, Sartre, Adorno, Brecht, Benjamin, Marcuse etc. are tried to be used.
