The aim of the course is to teach the epigenetic mechanisms and their relation to gene expression regulation. In particular, the role of epigenetic controls in normal development and cell differentiation will be emphasized. It will also show how epigenetic disorders lead to human pathologies.
Brief Description: Topics that cover the functions of epigenetic mechanisms in gene regulation in mammals will be studied extensively. As content; DNA methylation, histone modifications, chromatin modeling, genomic imprinting, X-inactivation, role of epigenetics in cancer formation and miRNAs, epigenetic laboratory and computational analyzes, epigenetic reprogramming of stem cells and epigenetic controls have functions in development and immunocyte. It will also focus on the role of epigenetic control deficits in the emergence of diseases.
