The main purpose in animal breeding is to select the best breeder in the shortest time, with the least cost and in the most accurate way. In achieving this goal, marker assisted selection offers important opportunities. The aim of this course is to inform students about how marker assisted selection is made, the possibilities of using it in animal breeding, and the planning and execution of a breeding program.
To determine the strategies for the purpose of animal breeding planning, to evaluate the population in terms of genetic diversity and to introduce the ways of application in practice to the students.
