Objectives of the Course

In this course, industrial automation and circuit elements used in industrial automation will be introduced. Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) will be introduced and their use in industrial automation will be explained. PLC programming using 3 basic PLC programming languages, PLC functions and simulation programs will be developed and run in a simulation environment.

Course Content

Definition of industrial automation, history and circuit elements used in industrial automation. Introduction and history of PLC. Software to be used in PLC programming and programming types, programming using ladder diagrams, function blocks and structured text. Introducing the Human Machine Interface and using its software.
