Objectives of the Course

The aim of thiscourse is to bring students in a general knowledge about the women’s status within the Ancient Eastern World during a period from the earliest times of the Near East andEgypt to the conquests of the Alexander the Great during the years of 332-227 BC.

Course Content

Women, men, children and family are the notions that appeared with the existence of mankind. Inthiscourse, women’s role andstatus in the Ancient Eastern (Ancient Mesopotamian, EgyptianandAnatolian) civilizationswill be taught, within the context of status, rights and responsibilities and mutual relations of the family members from the earliest times of history.

4.Being able to review the women’s role in Ancient Egyptian societies.
5.Being able to review the women’s role in Ancient Anatolian societies.
