Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to analyze Ancient Greek Theatre and culture and study certain tragedians and comedians (Aeschylus, Euripides, Sophocles, and Aristophanes) within the feminist perspective.

Course Content

Plays, Theatre Terminology, Social Gender, Mother Goddess Cult, Monotheistic Religionand Cultures, Origin of Drama, Tragic and comic festivals, Traditions of Ancient Greek Theatre, Religion and Theatre, Woman and Theatre, Myths and Tragedy, Ancient Greek Tragedies in Modern World.
