Objectives of the Course

The aim of the course is to discuss the feminist theories. This course introduces major topics and debates in feminist theories, both historical and contemporary. To introduces variety of feminist perspectives and use these theoretical framework in daily and social life.

Course Content

Historicalbackground of feminisms, liberal feminism, existentialist feminism, psychoanalytic feminism, cultural feminism, Marxistandsocialist feminism, radicalfeminism, postmodern feminism, ReligiousFeminisms, Conservative Feminism and third-wave feminism.

1.To have a command of fundamental approaches, relations among concepts in Woman and Gender studies in a multidisciplinary perspective
2.To learn historical background of the feminist theories
3.To be aware of therelevance of feminist theories for understanding and acting in various social positions
4.To learn main gender theories
5.To have ability in order to critically appreciate and constructively criticize texts, structures, processes, and ideas
6.To have ability to articulate and convey ideas clearly and effectively in oral discussion and writing for a variety of people.
