The aim of this course is to explain what practices and difficulties social classes face when choosing sports activities in the strategies they use to protect their class boundaries through their tastes in their lifestyles.
Sports activities, which are one of the leisure activities of people, provide indicators to sociologists in understanding the stratification of societies. In other words, one of the means of measuring stratification in societies is the diversity of sports activities. Whether by participating or watching sports events, they reflect the differences of social strata. Because each social layer wants to be different from the other and makes these differences visible in the whole of daily life. Therefore, he uses artistic and sports activities to distinguish his own social layer from the one below. As a result of being seen as a matter of preference both in terms of access to sports activities and in terms of internalizing the preference of the social strata from which they come, we can talk about sportive activities specific to strata.
