Objectives of the Course

The course aims to explain the methodologies underlying the field of communication and media, to develop the logic and propositions of scientific research, and to provide information on scientific publication ethics.

To evaluate the basic methodological approaches and research methods in the field of communication and media studies.

1.Distinguish the relation of epistemological classes in the field of communication and media.
2.Distinguish the correlation of methodological approaches prevailing in the field of communication and media.
3.Discuss the importance of qualitative/quantitative research methods that emerged as a result of post-positivist epistemological discussions in terms of communication studies.
4.Can describe and problematize research ethics.
5.Can explain and problematize what characterizes science and scientific explanations.
