Objectives of the Course

This course aims to provide students with a basic knowledge of key concepts, theories and debates in the field of critical media studies.

Course Content

This course focuses on basic topics such as critical theory and communication theories, key concepts in social sciences, political economy of the media, cultural studies.

Learning Outcomes
1.Have basic knowledge about the main concepts, theories and debates in the field of media and communication studies.
2.Will be able to analyze the main divergences and features of each approach constituting the critical paradigm.
3.Evaluate the critical approach's view of the media environment as a whole at the level of production, product and consumption.
4.Gains a critical perspective on media production and consumption within the framework of the approaches learned in the course.
5.Can make critical reading of media texts.
