The purposes of this course are to provide students wıth knowledge and information about the definition of urban green areas, their types, functions and benefits; the status of urban green spaces in legislation; the effects of urbanization and global warming on urban green spaces; challenges in planning and designing urban green spaces; planning and design approaches in sustainable urban green spaces; management and strategies in sustainable urban green areas, and public participation and importance in sustainable urban green areas.
The contents of this course include the definition, types and classification of urban green areas; functions and benefits of urban green spaces; the status of urban green spaces in legislation; effects of urbanization on urban green spaces; global warming and its effects on urban green spaces; challenges in planning and designing urban green spaces; sustainability and the role of urban green spaces; planning approaches in sustainable urban green spaces; sustainable design in urban green spaces; management of sustainable urban green spaces; sustainable urban green space strategies, and public participation and importance in sustainable urban green spaces.
