Objectives of the Course

This course is designed to give students a practical knowledge of basic methods and principles of DNA sequencing in farm animals, other agricultural species and other living organisms.

Course Content

This course consists of the following topics briefly: history of sequencing, DNA and gene structure, sample preparation for sequencing, sequencing methods (basic methods, next generation sequencing methods and 3rd generation sequencing methods), analyzing and interpreting sequence data, applications of DNA sequence analysis in different areas, etc.
