Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to give information about the chemical structure, physiology and pigments of bacteria.

Course Content

Properties of organic and inorganic materials accomplishing chemical structure of bacteria. Main organic components of bacteria. Classification of bacteria based on their food intake styles. Bacterial photosynthesis. Growth of bacteria. Factors affecting bacterial growth. Various bacterial pigments. Photosynthetic pigments, non-photosynthetic pigments. Classification of bacteria according to their energy sources.
