Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to give information about growth, food ıntake and synthesis in bacteria.

Course Content

Necessary macro and micro elements to be consumed by bacteria. Classification of bacteria based on carbon sources. Metabolism of bacteria. Bacterial enzymes, classification of enzymes. Naming enzymes and factors determining enzyme activity. Measurement of enzyme activities. Growth of bacteria in fluid and solid media. Physical, chemical, biological and mechanical factors affecting the bacterial growth. Control of bacterial growth.
