Objectives of the Course

The objective of this course is to give information about prions and their infections.

Course Content

General features of prions. Their transmission ways to humans and animals, the sources of the infective agents, factors in transmission. Last experimental studies. The ideas on the casutive agent of spongiform encephalopaties. Aethiology, epizootioology, symptoms and diagnosis of BSE (Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy), OSE (Ovine spongioform encephalopathy), CJD (Creutzfeldt Jacop Disease).
