Objectives of the Course

To learn the development of primordial germ cells in avian species, proliferation and transfection of primordial germ cells in culture, production of chimeric embryos by transferring primordial germ cells, principles of the transgenic technology, production of transgenic chickens by using primordial germ cells.

Course Content

Establishment of germ cell lineage and migration of primordial germ cells to gonads, culture pf balstodermal cells and primordial germ cells, establishment of avian embriyonic stem cells, production of transgenic stocks through germline chimeras.
