Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to equip graduate and doctoral students with essential competencies in scientific research methods. Students will learn the fundamental concepts, processes, and techniques of scientific research while enhancing their skills in literature review, citation, academic writing, and adherence to ethical standards. The course also provides practical training in using research tools and guides students in preparing theses, articles, and other academic studies.

Course Content

This course provides a comprehensive introduction to scientific research techniques. In the early weeks, the focus will be on science, scientific methods, and the research process. Later, topics such as literature review, research paradigms, population and sample concepts, and econometric methods will be covered. Students will learn citation rules and gain practical experience in applying research methods for thesis and article writing. The course also emphasizes the use of citation management software such as Mendeley and highlights the importance of scientific ethics. In the final weeks, students will present and discuss their academic papers in class.
