In this course, it is aimed to provide learners with fundamental knowledge about character education, to help them intellectualize reasons of individuals’ behaviours in terms of personality traits and values, and also to enable them comprehend the importance of the concepts such as respect, trust, honesty, freedom and democratic way of life and their relation with character education.
Bases of character education, basic concepts of character education, emotional development and social learning theory, character education researchs at abroad, character education research in Turkey, the practices at primary and high schools in Turkey though formal and hidden curriculum, concepts of ethics, morality and character, ethics approaches, character education in Turkey and abroad, character education programs.
