Objectives of the Course

The aim of this course is to examine contemporary debates, emerging theoretical approaches, and recent developments in psychotherapeutic practice within the field of clinical psychology in depth. The course aims to enable students to critically evaluate current trends in psychotherapy and to develop their own clinical practice based on scientific foundations.

Course Content

This course provides a comprehensive examination of current theoretical and practical developments in the field of psychotherapy. Third-wave cognitive-behavioral therapies (such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Interventions), integrative approaches, internet- and computer-assisted psychotherapy, and the role of emotion regulation in therapy are explored in depth. The course also addresses contemporary themes such as the impact of cultural diversity on therapeutic processes, brief and structured intervention models, and the implications of neuroscientific findings for psychotherapeutic practice. Particular emphasis is placed on technology-based therapeutic applications that have gained prominence in recent years — including online therapy, digital tools, and AI-assisted interventions. All of these topics are discussed within the context of the therapeutic relationship, ethical dilemmas, and practical applications.
