Objectives of the Course

This course offers basic and advanced techniques in the analytical and numerical modelling of various heat pipe systems under a variety of operating conditions and limitations, and the variety of complex and coupled processes of heat and mass transfer in heat pipes

Course Content

Types of heat pipes and applications, Working fluids, Wick structures, Control techniques, Heat characteristics, Heat pipe theory, Capillary limit and temperature characteristics, Sonic, Bubble method, Boiling limit, Heat pipe design and design models, Fabrication of heat pipes, Various applications of heat pipes in energy systems.
