Objectives of the Course

To ensure the protection of the physical and psychosocial health of mother and newborn's the postpartum period and those necessary for the development of midwifery knowledge and skills and innovation to address these issues and that the current approach is to follow.

Course Content

This course postpartum complications/risk situations and the midwife's responsibility, evidence-based care and practices in postpartum period, mother-infant data examination in the world and in Turkey, pain and postpartum psychology in the postpartum period, postpartum contraception and sexuality, in the postpartum period in hospital and at home, patient safety, have special cases parents after birth to new life harmony (disability, infertility, multiple pregnancy, unwanted pregnancy) and postnatal home care services, traditional and cultural approaches to includes the effects are.

Learning Outcomes
1.To be able to identify postpartum period, to evaluate and follow-up the mother in physical and psychological aspects, make applications to improve the health of the mother and baby
2.Evidence-based care and practice knowing and applying In the postpartum period
3.To be able to count In the postpartum period, the contraceptive method used
4.With exception of parents to help in adaptation to new life after birth
5.Postnatal home care services to explain the effects of traditional and cultural approach
6.To be able to integrate issues related to the educational process and improve independent learning, reading, studying and research skills
