Objectives of the Course

1- to provide students with critical and analytical thinking about poverty 2- to provide students with an understanding of the relationship between social change/development and poverty 3- to provide students with an ability to analyse the relationship between globalisation and neo-liberalism 4- to provide students with an ability to grasp the appearences of poverty in different social segments 5- to provide students with an competence of being able to propose solutions to the problems of poverty

Course Content

Poverty: The Term, Meaning and Transformation; Capitalism, Poverty and The Transformation of Poverty; Globalization, Its Basic Dynamics and Poverty; Neoliberal Transformation and Poverty; Poverty and The Globaization of Poverty; Globalization, Poverty and The New Appearences of Globalization.
